In the Beijing General City Plan ratified by the State Council in 1993, it is clearly stated that a modern central business district with multi-functions of finance, insurance, trade, information, commerce, culture, entertainment and business office should be built in Beijing. The extent of central business district in Chaoyang District around the China World Hotel Towers, namely, is an approximately 3.99-sq km. area. .The development in the heart of the city's central business district features a 330m tower, which will be the tallest building in Beijing and the amazing CCTV's new 553,000-square-metre headquarters, the building is 230 meter tall it is not a traditional tower, but a continuous loop of horizontal and vertical sections that establish an urban site rather than point to the sky. As usual the previous building will be destroyed, as most of them already are, and the people will be dislocated somewhere else. Neither less other areas are involved in the reconstruction of the city. .In Sanlitun area, one of the old embassy district, a central area for business and with a lot of bars and restaurants, the old houses are destroyed to make room to modern compound.
