Biopolis is a research complex, 2 million square feet, and an integrated biomedical research hub located in Singapore. Opened in October 2003, Biopolis boasts state-of-the-art scientific facilities, including nuclear magnetic resonance and DNA sequencing and hosting all of the biomedical research bodies, namely the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB), the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS), the Bioprocessing Technology Institute (BTI), the Bioinformatics Institute (BII) and the Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (IBN) of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR)...Biopolis is envisioned to be a world-class biomedical sciences research and development (R&D) hub in Asia and is aimed at establishing Singapore as a world centre in new scientific disciplines like genomics, stem cells and nanotechnology.. This campus is dedicated to providing space for biomedical R&D activities and it is an environment that fosters a collaborative culture among the private and public research community.
